Beach -canvas-

Hi all!
Had so much fun creating this beach canvas.
I guess I'm still in a vacation mood and trying to hold the relaxed feeling!
The lovely, sunny weather at the moment sure does helps!

Painted the background with acrylic paints and gesso.
Dusty Attic products used:
Corner Scroll #2, DA 0464
Fish Net Panel, DA 0654
Grass Clusters #1, DA 0660

And some details:

Enjoy your weekend!

simply happy

Another vacation layout today.
simply me......simply happy

Misted the background and added some gesso.

And some details:
Made the big paper and looped flower and crocheted the mini ones.

Embossed the Dusty Attic frame from the Mini Frame set, DA0567, with white and pink embossing powder.

Randomly added some beads.

The round pieces of wood were also embossed.
Some dried grass, raffia, lace, bling and voila...another page is born.
Really like the result of this page.
It makes me..... "simply happy".

Hope your day is a happy one too!
Hugs,
Ingrid

beach layout with tutorial

Hi all!

With all the bad weather over here (lots of rain and cold), I just had to make a summer layout!
Photo is of me, taken at our last vacation to Greece.

Here is how I made the beach house.
*Pagoda Gazebo, DA0711
*glue
*white crackle medium
*brown ink
*rope
*dried weed
*craft knife
Pagoda Gazebo, DA0711

Paint the lower part of the house with the white crackle medium.

Ink the edges with some brown ink.

Make some scratches with a craft knife to get a more older look.

Start to glue down the weed strings at the top of the house.

Cover up all of the top.

Put some some rope at the top to hold it all together.

And this is the final result.
For my layout I added a little bit more weeds and made the shutters with small pieces of the rope.

Have a wonderful and sunny day!

July ATC challenge and swap

Hi all!
A quick post today.
Here is my example for the july ATC challenge and swap at Dusty Attic.
This month theme is: on the red spectrum, from bright red to pale pink.
These little ones are so much fun to make!
My first package from the swap has arrived and oh boy...how great it is to actually see and feel the work of my scrappy friends!

Back from vacation

Hi all!

It's been a long time since my last post but I was enjoying a three week vacation with hubby,
including one week in Samos, Greece.
Greece was yet again wonderful: lovely sunny days, beautiful scenery, gorgeous quiet beaches, need I say more? We really enjoyed this week together!
Took a lot of photo's so beware of all the vacation layouts!LOL!

But first let me start with a project I made for someone at work who just retired.
We, the only 6 girls of the company, thought it would be fun to dress up as old women(didn't need  much changes!LOL) and organized a quiz, sketches, prizes, etc. for his fare-well party.
The lovely lady in the beige flower dress is me.
Notice the white socks and handbag!LOL
The beautiful(..) lady in the middle is 'ma Flodder', a famous actress in a popular TV show, the Dutch girls here will probably recognize her!
Oh well, let me tell you, we had a lot of fun together!

About this project:
I used a wooden frame and painted it with gesso and crackle medium to get the old look.
Decorated it with a lot of 'stuff' from the company:
cocoa beans, coins from Ghana( this is where most beans come from),
cocoa butter, the company logo and some old lab journaling.
Too bad we don't make chocolates but only sell the butter!LOL
(My job is to analyze the whole process, from the beans to the butter, in the lab).
It was quite a challenge to make this with no flowers,
but he loved this gift with the photo of the "girls"!

here are some details:

Have a wonderful day!
Hugs,
