two more birthday cakes

Hi all!

My sister and her best friend celebrated their 60th birthday together this weekend.
Made these cakes as a gift.
Used the Vintage Summer and Autumn Basics collection from Maja Design.

Made this one for my sister.
These colors will match her house perfectly.
She also likes the blue and turquoise, just like me!
Inside there is a little something.
Used some fiber paste to imitate some whipped creme.
Sprinkled a few beads into the wet paste and let it dry.
After drying I gave the paste and beads a little touch with gesso.

Here are some close-ups:

Imagination - fairy canvas for Shimmerz

Hello everyone!
Today I want to share a canvas I created for Shimmerz.
I didn't use many Shimmerz on this piece but it shows that
you don't have to use a lot of the paints to create a lovely piece.

For this canvas I only used two colors of Shimmerz:
Tickle me Turquoise and Sunny.
All the flowers and chipboard were also colored with these two colors.

Here is a photo of the background without the embellishments.
I started with some kitchen towel paper.
Tore them in little pieces and crumble them up.
Took some gesso and used the gesso as a glue to create the texture.
Then I added some micro glass beads to some gesso and covered the canvas.
I let it dry completely before adding the Shimmerz.
Put some Shimmerz in random places and added some water to let it run a little and
also added extra splashes of paint.
When dry, I put on some gesso (using a mini kitchen sponge) on the painted areas
to lighten the cracks and folds of the paper towel.

Look at that yummy texture!

Here are some close ups of the canvas and the embellishments:

Found this fairy at a local floral shop, isn't she lovely?
Her wings were also colored with the Shimmerz.

Love these colors together!
Turquoise is by far my most favorite color!!

Couldn't help myself, I had to make a card too!! lol
Used the same technique as the canvas.

Hope these projects will inspire you to use some Shimmerz as well!
They are just awesome to work with!

And remember:
If you place a Shimmerz order make sure you add my name in the
"Instructions to Merchant" space
and you will get a FREE sample sized jar of Dazzlerez or Texturez
or a full sized bottle of Dimensionz of your color choice.
How cool is that!

Let your imagination run and enjoy!
Have a wonderful day!

birthday girl

Hi all!
My "little girl" just turned 20 yesterday!
Oh my....time sure does fly!
Made this canvas for her birthday.

Have used a lot of Shimmerz products on this one.

Spritz: Treasured Hymn
Vibez: Jeni B Blue
Coloringz: Mama Sings the Blues
Texturez: Sandy Stone
Texturez; Teal Me No Lies
Dimensionz: Blue Lagoon

Sprayed the flowers, ribbon and lace with the Spritz, Vibez and Coloringz.

Used a template for the background, using the sprays and texturez.
Glued some chipboard numbers in the middle.
I randomly added some dots with the Dimensionz, Blue Lagoon.

For the banner I used the Texturez.

All of these Shimmerz are so great to work with!
If you place a Shimmerz order make sure you add my name during check out
and you will get a FREE sample of your color choice.

Enjoy your day!

set of cards

Hi all!

Seriously..having so much fun playing with all the Shimmerz products!!!
Today I have two canvas cards to share with you.

I was trying to make a different kind of background this time.
I put some gesso in a bottle with a small tip and
made a random pattern on both of the cards.

When the gesso is completely dry, it's time to add the Shimmerz.
Here I used:
Blingz: Flashee Fushia
Shimmerz: Periwinkle
Shimmerz: Bubble Gum
Spray with some water to let the colors blend in with each other.

Love the way the paints follows the patterns of the gesso
and you still have the whiteness of the gesso.

Did the same with this one.
Blingz: Flashee Fushia
Shimmerz: Periwinkle
Shimmerz: Tickle Me Turquoise

Really loved the way this turned out and it will create an awesome texture.

Here is the final result after adding some embellishments.
All the flowers were painted with the Shimmerz too.

The chipboard on these two cards is from Imaginarium Designs and
the twigs and metal frame from 13 arts.

Hope you liked my today's post and you got inspired to use some Shimmerz as well!
If you place a Shimmerz order make sure you add my name during checkout
and you will get a FREE sample of your color choice!!
You can find the Shimmerz shop here.

Enjoy your day!!

coffee grinder Maja Design

Hi all!

Today I want to share this altered coffee grinder I found at a local flea market.
Made this project with the Vintage Autumn Basics collection from Maja Design.

When I found this coffee grinder it was dark brown and really ugly but with lots of gesso, beautiful papers, flowers and lace it turned into a lovely project ( at least I think so! lol).

The top of this grinder and the mini clocks come from the 6x6" Paper Pad.

For the sides and the larger clocks I used the 12x12" No.II and No.XVI.

The flowers were painted with Shimmerz paints to match the papers.

Also made this card, just because.....
Using some left overs from the same collection.
One sheet of the 6x6" inch Paper Pad is just a perfect base for cards!
With templates and some Texture paste from Shimmerz I create the background.

Added some beads and Martha Stewart microbeads onto the wet paste to give it more texture.
Splattered some paints in the same colors as the painted flowers.

Just because...
