Book of Shimmerz

Hi all!

 A fun project today!
Made this book with lots of yummy Shimmerz!
As I don't have the luxury of a scraplace, I store my paints in a box.
Found this not very handy when I wanted to start with a new project
so I decided to make this book with all the products and colors.

Here is my book of Shimmerz:
Started this book with glueing some paper towel to create some texture.
Glued the letters and the metal frame as well.
All was given a coat of gesso before adding the paints.
Sprayed and painted with all the Shimmerz.
Also sprayed some water to let the colors run.
Added some micro beads into the wet paints for an extra touch.
Once dry, I gave the whole book a touch of gesso to highlight the textures.

Here a glimpse of the inside of the book.
Still have some room for more colors! lol ;)

Here are some details:
All the flowers were also painted with the Shimmerz paints and sprays.

Some lace and threads in matching colors.

The metal frame was also painted with the Shimmerz colors.

Look at all that yummy texture!

Here is the backside:
The backside got the same treatment as the front.

Playing with Shimmerz is just SO much fun!

chest of drawers and card *Maja Design*

Today a chest of 4 drawers with 4 different Maja collections.

For this project I used ALL four Vintage Basics collections,
Vintage Spring, Vintage Summer, Vintage Autumn and Vintage Frost.
All of the Maja collections work so well together!!

I used the following papers:
Vintage Spring: 7th of May
Vintage Summer: 1909
Vintage Autumn: No.XII
Vintage Frost: 7th of December

The lovely handles come from a Dutch online store: Scrap-Unlimited.
They have the most beautiful metal embellishments!

These gorgeous tulle flowers and the white paper flower are from 13Arts.

Yep, another earring! lol
Love to use them on a project!

Also made some flowers with the Maja collections.

The big flourish and also the mini fleur des lis on the drawers are from Dusty Attic.

A close up from the hand made flowers.

Top view of the chest with the No. XII from the Vintage Autumn collection.

You can't have enough of these so I made a card as well.
For this one I used the Vintage Autumn and Vintage Frost collection.
The background comes from the 6x6 pack of the Vintage Autumn collection.
Chipboard is from Dusty Attic and the twigs are from 13Arts.
Hope you liked my todays post and you will be inspired to combine all the wonderful Maja
collections as well!
Enjoy your day!

colored glass bottle Shimmerz -with tutorial-

Hi all!
Today I'm sharing an altered glass bottle with lots of yummy Shimmerz!
I also made a step by step photo tutorial.
Here is the final result after playing with all the colors!

But let me start with the step by step photo's:
This is what you need to get started:
a glass bottle, Mod Podge, a brush and some paper kitchen towel.

Tear up some of the paper towel and glue them on the bottle with the Mod Podge.

If you crumble up the towel, you get some great texture!

After drying it should look like this.

Didn't like the clear spots on the bottle, so I gave it an extra layer with Gesso.

This is the bottle with the pieces of paper towel and a layer of Gesso.
Now it's time to add some color!

For the first layer I started with the sprays:
Vibez: Razzle Dazzel Berry, Princess, Jeni B Blue
Spritz: Carribean Sunset

Let the paints run in to each other for a nice effect.

For some extra pops of color I used the following Shimmerz products:
Dazzelerz: Gummy Berry Blue, Grapetastic, Pucker Up Pink
Texturez: Brick Wall
Used a brush to add the paints on the bottle.
Sprayed with some water to let the colors run a little.

Love these colors together.

Also added some splashes of the sprays.

I wanted to highlight all the cracks so I took an old kitchen sponge
with some Gesso and dapped lightly on the textures.

The Gesso makes all the cracks just pop!

Now it's time to decorate the bottle.

Shimmerz paints are just perfect for coloring your flowers.
Just add some water to the Dazzelerz and Texturez paints.

I didn't use the pink ones but they will be handy for another project!

Tip: Don't waste any of those gorgeous Shimmerz.
Just take some paper towel and clean up the plate.

Mmm....this could be another lovely project.
You can use this as a great background on almost everything!
Just glue the paper towel with Gesso or Mod Podge.

And here is the final result after all the fun!
