13 arts book

Here it is, my 13 arts book!
It contains the colors of all my 13arts paints.
I find it very handy if I want a matching color for my projects.

My book got a coat of gesso first.
Layered the frame, paintbrushes, the ribbon jets and the letters.
Made a mix of gesso and glass filler and randomly applied it on the book.
Also added some plastic filler.
Once dry, it was time for all the paints.

After all the paints I gave the whole book a touch of gesso.
I gave it a final touch with some splatters.

Some great texture from the ribbon jets and the glass filler!

All the paper flowers were also colored with the paints.

Added some glass pearls.

The lovely metal frame.

And here is a peek on two of my pages.

altered glass bottle *Maja Design*

Today I want to share this glass bottle. Found this bottle at a local store and I just loved making it more prettier with the Maja papers! For this project I used the Vintage Summer Basics from Maja Design.

I started by cutting paper and distressing all the edges.

Cut some small strips to fill this piece of the bottle.
Glued some pearls on the edges and added the lace around the top.
The lovely butterfly is from Prima.

A small chippie from Dusty Attic on all the sides.

A piece of glass and metal chain from my stash which was perfect for this project.

Another piece of chipboard from Dusty Attic. Gave it a coat of gesso.

A pin on top with a small lace flower.
Inked the cork to match the papers.

A piece of the 1932 bottom strip.

Papers used: 1903 - 1926 - 1932

Enjoy your day!

layout together - SATW and 13 arts

My entry for the SATW challenge.
Photo is from Tessa with her dad at a lovely day together at the beach.
These two have such a special bond and it's great to see how much they love each other and laugh at the same jokes that nobody seems to understand except them selfs! LOL

I created the background with a mix of gesso and sand using a pallet knife .
Added the colors, some misted and some directly from the bottle with a brush.

The beautiful moodboard for the SATW challenge.

Here are some close-ups:
Twigs and cherry blossom flowers from Scrapberry's.

The lovely handmade fabric flowers made by my friend Paulien.

Square pieces of an old necklace and some wooden beads.
Some turquoise mesh between the embellishments.

The together metal piece is also from Scrapberry's and also available at the 13arts store.

13arts challenge #29 - Your favorite color!

Hi all! Today it's my turn to host the 13arts challenge.
When I was ask to make one, the first thing that comes to mind was turquoise.
Turquoise is just my absolute favorite number one color!
You can find this color everywhere in my house and it really makes me happy!
So for this challenge I would like to ask you to create something with YOUR number 1 color.
Anything goes, a card, layout, an off the page project, you name it.
Made this moodboard for some extra inspiration.
If you want to join this color challenge, check out the 13arts blog HERE

And here is my turquoise 13arts girl!

Started to glue some kitchen paper towel on the dress form.
Added all the embellishments: beads, brushes, buttons, metal mini flowers and empty paint tubes!
Really love the empty tubes on the shoulder and left side!
Gave it all a firm coat of gesso before adding all the paints.

A gorgeous tulle flower from 13arts.

The painted fabric flowers were added after all the paints.

Just love these empty paint tubes! They look so cool!

Here is a short tutorial on how I made the fabric flowers.
Take a piece of white cotton.
Adding all your favorite colors of paint.

After drying, cut out some circles.

Take two layers of fabric circles.
Just simply put in a metal pin, twist the pin and fabric a bit, and pin it to the dress form.
A lovely detail and extra texture. How easy is that! :)

sewing box *Maja Design*

Had a lot of wooden spools just waiting to be used, so here it is...my vintage sewing box! :)
Made this box with the Vintage Summer Basics from Maja design.

For the box I used the 1899 and the 1946 sheets.

This box has a glass frame to see through so this box will be filled with some laces.

Just love these mini spools.
I gave them a coat with gesso.

The spools were decorated with the 1891 and the 1932 sheet.

A lovely scissor put in one of the spools.

Lots of room to be filled!

These old fabric buttons were found at a local flea market.

Some vintage lace bobbins for lacemaking.

Some flower ribbon, metal leaves, stick pins and flowers.

Papers used:
1891 - 1899 - 1932 - 1946

Enjoy your day!
