Bird house *Maja design*

Today I would like to share this altered wooden bird house made with Maja Design latest collection, Coffee in the Arbour. I was in a sentimental mood because my youngest daughter is going to study at Wright University, Dayton USA. I'm soooo proud of her and so happy for her that she is following her dreams but this mom is a little bit sad....she is leaving the nest!

Covered the front of the house with the "Flourishing Garden" sheet.
Added some pink lace at the roof top edges.

View of the left side of the bird house.
For the roof I used the other side of the "Flourishing Garden" sheet, the striped one.

View of the right side of the bird house.
I painted the bird chipboard with some gesso mixed with mini beads.

Some real (painted) twigs to decorate the house together with some Prima flowers.

Two wooden hearts, painted white with some gesso.

Along the sides I used the bottom stripe from the "Flourishing Garden" sheet.

For the top a used a piece of the "Raspberry Cupcake" sheet.

Papers used: Flourishing Garden(+bottom stripe) and Raspberry Cupcake.

Enjoy your day!

photo frame *Shimmerz*

Today I have a photo frame with a photo of our latest vacation to Skiathos, Greece.
Hubby and me are totally in love with Greece and all of it's islands.
The beautiful sceneries, the warm weather, the gorgeous beaches.......sigh!
This piece is now hanging on my wall so we can dream of our next trip, hopefully next year!

Actually found this frame in Greece. It was white already with blue windows.
The blue was a bit to dark so I gave them a coat of gesso first and then painted with Shimmerz, Ultra Marine to match the photo. Added the anchor because of all of our boat trips we did this year.

The anchor chipboard was first painted with Shimmerz, Coffee.
Once dry, I randomly painted with the new Inklingz metal, Tarnished Treasure.

Look at all those shimmer! Painted the flowers with Shimmerz, Buttercream and Vibez, Hot Fudge.

Gave the frame more texture with Texturez, Tidy Widy.

Even painted the sea stars. I found them a little bit too yellow
so they got two coats with Shimmerz, Buttercream.

For this photo frame I used the following Shimmerz paints:
Texturez: Tidy Widy
Shimmerz: Coffee
Shimmerz: Buttercream
Shimmerz: Ultra Marine
Vibez: Hot Fudge
Inklingz (metal): Tarnished Treasure

And don't forget: If you place an order, make sure you mention my name and you will get a FREE Shimmerz of your color choice! How great is that! :)

Enjoy your day!

Door hanger *Maja Design*

Did you see my earlier Maja Design post from my scrap place?
There I told you I create at my dinner table and I'm dreaming of my own place.
Thought I might as well make me a door hanger already, you never know, right?!

Also in that post I mentioned my obsession of keeping all the little left overs.
They are perfect for small projects, tags and cards.
For this wooden door hanger I used bits and pieces from the Summer and Autumn Vintage collection.

The chipboard doily is from Dusty Attic, which I painted and cut in half.
The lovely metal heart, as the wooden door hanger, is from Action, a Dutch store.

The chipboard key is from Dusty Attic as well.
Painted twice with gesso.
The tiny lace bows were a gift from a dear friend. Thanks sweetie! :)

Added some flowers from my stash. (really have forgotten the brands, sorry)
They got a little touch of gesso.

The lovely white twigs are from 13Arts.
Really love those and you can find them on lots of my projects.

Papers used:
1946
No. XII

Enjoy your day!

In our sofa - Ingrid's place- *Maja design*

At Maja Design the DT members are sharing, over the course of the year,
a little peek at their scrap place/room.
Today it's my turn to share my little scrap place.
And little it is!! LOL
I'm not having the luxury of having my own scrap room and always make my projects on my dinner table. Not having a scrap room means you'll find my stash and products all over the place!
And I mean everywhere!! :)
My two girls are still living with us but it will not be long before they will leave the nest.
Always kidding them by asking them when they will leave so that I can redecorate their rooms into a scraproom. Shhh(don't tell)...the truth is I love having them around me!
Here are some photo's of my house, so sit back and don't mind all the mess!!

I remember buying this white cabinet and wondering how I was ever going to fill this one
and look at it now......need I say more? :)

Can you guess what's my favorite color? :)
This is the other side of my living room with a view of my small backyard.

Painted my stairway some years ago. All the colors still makes me very happy!

A rare view of one side of my living room.....empty dinner table!
Darling daughter finally has a chance to actually sit at that table!
I always try to clean up the table after every project.
Doesn't always works that way but I kinda like all the goodies at my display!

Boxes, boxes and boxes everywhere!

This is what my table looks like after another Maja project!
Now you see why I desperate need a scraproom, don't you? LOL

I have to admit I have a crazy obsession to find it difficult to throw anything away from all of those papers. Every little piece I have to keep and I even save all the leftovers from my punched flowers!
Do you think I need some help? :)

All my painting is done in my kitchen.
It's very small but somehow I find a way to work between all the cups and plates!
I'm driving my girls crazy when they need the space for making their lunch or even to make a cup of tea! No worry girls, we will find an empty place! :)

I told you it would be messy! LOL

But he....I DO clean!!
Ready for another project! :)

Hope you all liked this post and who knows, maybe soon I will be lucky to have my own space! :)
Enjoy your day!

create with passion *Shimmerz*

Today I want to share a canvas featuring the new INKLINGZ.
Had a lot of fun playing with the colors!
For this canvas I used the following Shimmerz:

Inklingz -pearl-
sunkissed
pink-a-boo
beets me
me-blue

I started to randomly applying the colors.
Added some water to let the colors blend a little.
Wanted to get a more white-washed effect so I applied some gesso and
lightly used a dry paint brush to get some stripes and
I used the end of a spoon to get a more textured effect in the gesso.
When I start with a project I never know which way it's going to lead me.
In this project it kinda turned out in a dress, but that's only my imagination. :)
I see a colorful wedding dress including a veil!

Here you can see how the colors blend in with each other.
Love to use the 13Arts twigs!

All the flowers were colored with the Inklingz as well.
The big paper flowers and the tulle flower are from 13Arts.

Used some Prima resin the create the top of the dress.

Here you can see the effect of the extra stripes into the wet gesso.

Found these beautiful lace flowers on the internet and of course I had to paint almost all of them! :)

Hope you all liked my today's post and remember:
Create with passion!!

Enjoy your day!
