mixed media beach lady

Today I want to show you my mixed media beach lady.
Inspired by the colors of the beach:
The blues for the water and the sky.
The whites for the waves.
And the cremes for the sand and shells.

Started this lady with glueing paper towel with gesso for the dress.
Made a mix from gesso and white fine sand and applied it on the dress to create the texture.
Randomly added the paints using an old credit card.
Once dry, I applied the last layer with gesso, also with the old credit card.

A lovely sandy texture.

I made the head with a clock chipboard piece.
The base was made with some paper.
It got the same texture as the dress.
Added the transparant pearls as they reminded me of some water droplets.

As the inside was hollow, I filled it with lots of crumbled paper towel.
Glued it all together and once dry, I painted with blue paints.
Also some gesso as a finishing touch.

Filled this mini glass bottle with some sand and added a piece of paper which I stamped first.

Some shells, pearls, twigs and sea stars.

Painted sandy texture.

Gave the black metal a touch with some gesso.

Enjoy your day!
