art journal page *13Arts*

I was asked to make a page for a friend's art journal and here is what I came up with.
It was quite a challenge to make it flat though, most of my projects are quite bulky!! LOL! :)
But I must say, I really loved making it and I will probably make my own journal soon!

I used papers from the Fly Away collection from 13Arts, probably too hard to see
as I covered it all up with the paints! LOL
Also from 13Arts: mists, splash ink, modeling paste, gesso, glass filler, stencil create art.
For this project I used the following mists:
Pastel Lavender
Pastel Salmon
Chalk blue light
Not spraying the colors, just applied it directly from the bottle
with a paintbrush and some water to let the colors run.

The butterflies were cut from the Days and Nights sheet.
I also used pieces of the decorative jets on this journal for some extra texture.

I started this page by glueing some strips of paper and adding some small pieces of washi tape.
Making some texture with modeling paste.

I so love the effect of the gesso and glass filler mix, so yummy texture!
I used the splash ink a bit different: I put some drops on a plate
and made the long white lines using an old bank card.

The splashes were made with 13Arts Splash ink, white and black.

Enjoy your day and.....

two mini canvases *13Arts*

Made these two mini canvases as a Christmas gift for someone special.
I used the gorgeous paints from 13Arts.
You can find all of the 13Arts products here.
There are not only paints in the store, but also a great place for your papers, gesso, modeling paste, gel medium, flowers, twigs, stencils, glass filler, etc. etc. There is much more so you might take a look! :)

I used a hinge of an old cabinet and put these two mini canvases together.
On top of the front one, a metal handle.
Glued some kitchen paper towel on some places and added a mix of gesso and glass filler from 13Arts.
Once dry, I applied the 13Arts paints and a final touch of gesso.

Here is the back and front side view:

And the inside view:

Some details:
Such lovely texture from the glass filler.

The hinge got a touch of gesso as well.

The Bliss metal is from Scrapberry's.

And of course, some twigs from 13Arts. Just love them!

Enjoy your day!

winter canvas *Maja Design*

A winter project for you today featuring "A Gift for you",
another gorgeous Maja design collection!
Added my favorite color, turquoise!

I took a reversed canvas and started to decorate with papers from the "A Gift for you".
I used the backside of the *pictures and tag sheet* for my background and
*shipped from the North Pole* for the inside of the canvas.
For the border of the inner frame and the roof of the birdhouse I used the *when the snow is falling*.

This cute little bird was found between a lot of xmas decorations at a local store.

Added some puffy paint around the edges to give it a more wintery look.

On some spots on the canvas I glued some bits of kitchen paper towel and added a mix of modeling paste with 13 Arts glass filler. Once dry, I painted the brown and turquoise colors and gave it a touch of gesso for more effect.

The small birdhouse gives it a great 3D effect.

Wooden trees.

Some flowers and the white resin at the top of the canvas are from Scrapberry's, together with the lovely white twigs from 13 Arts.

The birdhouse with the *when the snow is falling* papers.
Some white cotton balls to give it a more wintery feel.

The cute bird sitting on some twigs from 13 Arts.

Papers used:
*shipped from the North Pole
* when the snow is falling
* pictures and tags sheet

Wishing you a warm and cozy day!

a gift for you *Maja design*

Made this triptych for someone special as a holiday gift.
I used the "A gift for you" collection from Maja Design.

On the front I used the "shipped from the North Pole" sheet for the background.
Added some strips of this sheet and pieces of "when the snow is falling" and "on Christmas morning".

The lovely handles are from Scrap-Unlimited, a Dutch online store.
They were given a touch of gesso.

Embellished it with a big white flower from 13Arts and small roses and mini cotton balls.

A lovely scenery on the inside with a torn piece of the "on Christmas morning" sheet.

All the small sides were decorated with the backside of the "on Christmas morning" sheet.

For the bottom edges I mixed some modeling paste with 13Arts glass filler.

The total inside with room for some journaling.
The journaling card comes from the pictures and tags sheet.

The pink, flowery one for my daughter of course, AM and the blue one for her boyfriend, PM.

For my Dutch friends, these were bought at the Hema.
These little cuties are 9x9cm / 3,3 x3,5inch.
Started both with glueing bits of paper towel to give them more texture.
Added all the embellishments, gave it all a coat of gesso before applying all the colors.
After all the colors, an extra touch with some gesso using a sponge.

Blingz: Flashee Fushia
Shimmerz: Marigold
Shimmerz: Magenta

There she is...another earring piece! :)

A pearl string around the edges.

Added some wooden beads.

The cute little handle is from a Dutch online store Scrap-Unlimited.

And here the other clock:
